We serve our local community of Forton set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside. Our regular worship continues in addition to the events below. Please click here for more details of our normal worship times.
Sunday 16th December, 4pm, St. James Church. Join us for our Christingle service – oranges and all the decorations for them will be provided! Please do join us for this atmospheric service. By the end of the service we will all have our Christingles made; then we will light the candles, and sing a carol (or maybe two) by candlelight.
Sunday 23rd December, 10am, St. James Church. Sung Eucharist and a very special service as our Sunday School children tread the boards in their very own Nativity play. Not to be missed, they will surely do us all proud!
Sunday 23rd December, 4pm, St. James Church. Carol Concert. Featuring the augmented choir ably led by Sheila Wolfendale, you will hear a beautiful selection of everyone’s favourite carols including some more modern arrangements, in celebration of Christmas.
Monday 24th December, 5pm, St. James Church. Crib service; a fun family celebration of all things Christmas, including our wonderful Sunday School children once again performing their Nativity play. The Posada that has been working it’s way around the village will finally arrive in the church this evening, so why not come along to help welcome Mary and Joseph to the stable, and see Donkey put his feet up at last!
Monday 24th December, 11.30pm, St. James Church. Midnight Eucharist.
Tuesday 25th December, 10am, St. James Church. Sung Eucharist; a special family-friendly Christmas day service, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus all those years ago. Children (and adults!) are invited to bring one present from home to show us, and we will talk about the BIGGEST present of all!
Saturday 9th February 2019, 4pm – 6pm, Forton Primary School. Messy church!
