Churches Together in Forton

St James Church on Whinney Brow Lane, together with the United Reformed Church on School Lane, and the Methodist Church on Hollins Lane are the three churches that serve the Forton locality, set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside.

On the first Friday of each month (term-time only), at 9.30am, residents from the Forton area meet for prayer in the United Reformed Church. They come from many different churches in Forton and the surrounding area, but share their common goal of committing to God’s care any and all issues surrounding Forton, it’s community and people. If you have an issue that you would like to pray about, please do come along and join us – it is open to all. If you can’t attend, but would still like us to pray for you, please let us know by contacting the vicar here.

Also on a Friday morning, at 10.30am each week, there is a coffee morning at the Hollins Lane Methodist Church. Any and all are welcome to drop in for a chat and a brew!

The United Reformed Church is centrally located on School Lane, next to Forton Primary School. It is linked as a joint pastorate with Garstang URC. The building dates from 1707, and has recently completed internal refurbishment works to improve the facilities for visitors and congregation – including updated toilet facilities! This picture was taken in early spring when the graveyard was beautifully carpeted with flowers. For more information on services times or to contact a member of the pastorate team, click here.

The Methodist Church is situated on Hollins Lane, in one of the village cottages on the roadside. It is proud to host the village’s Post Office, a vital community resource for local people. For more information, service times or to contact a member of the church team, click here.
